Amanda Lee Winter was born as Amanda Jane Peery on May 24th, 1987 in Grand Island, Nebraska. As a young child in the Hastings, Nebraska foster care system, the only certainty she had was her music. Rumor has it that she came out with a microphone in her hand.
Amanda started singing in church at a very young age, and joined the Nebraska Country Music Foundation at the age of 9. Amanda attended Sutton Public Schools for the entire duration of her education where she performed in many concerts, show choir events, musicals and talent competitions. She won her first top amateur award with the NCMF in 1997 at the age of 10. In her 15 years as a member of the foundation, Amanda has brought home 17 trophies, her most recent being the 2010 Top Professional Female Vocalist award.
In 2009 Amanda competed and took the top honor at the first annual Cottonwood’s Got Talent contest in Hastings, Nebraska. The following year, Amanda won the Galaxy of Stars Contest at the Nebraska State Fair. Through this contest she was awarded the Mega Star award, shining star award and people’s choice.
The competition awarded Amanda with her first recording session at Warehouse productions in Omaha, Nebraska. In December of 2010, Amanda recorded and released her first Christmas album, "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
Throughout the ups and downs of Amanda’s life, the only thing she has ever known for sure is that she was born to sing. Her passion and love for country music mixed with her drive and ambition to succeed will surely help send her where she wants to be. People have always said what a glow Amanda has when she’s up on stage as her pure love for the music business shines through.
Amanda’s inspirations are made up of country legends such as Martina McBride, and her lifetime hero Reba McEntire. No matter where her music road leads her, Amanda is excited to continue to follow this exciting path.

What drives you to be an entertainer? I love the adrenaline rush being on stage. It is such an awesome feeling knowing that your music makes everyone jump up and scream. The part about my singing I love so much is how much power I have to my voice, and people are shocked with how much noise I can make from such a small body...ha.
What are some weird facts about you that people might not know?
- I am extremely double jointed, especially in my hands and my knees.
- I hate to admit it but I am scared of the dark.
- I was adopted at the age of 5 1/2, which many people don't know. I have 6 half-siblings biologically, one of which grew up in the same household as I did.
- I HATE seafood, I don't even like going into sea-food places because I don't like the smell of it.
- Driving around relaxes me, anytime I have a lot to think about, or if I am every upset about anything, I like to drive around and listen to my country music really loud.
How did you become interested in music? I have been singing since the age I could talk, I guess you could say it was in my genes. My biological mother was a singer, so I guess I must have inherited it. I started singing publically at the age of 9, and haven't stopped since. Ever since a very young age, Reba has always been my idol--and that has never changed.
What is your career goal? Obviously, I want to 'hit it big' as they say. But I would be happy with traveling around and sharing my music with the world. My dream is to one day sing the duet "Does He Love You" with Reba.
